Clyde Waterfront Heritage

Titan Crane at Clydebank

Out and about in West Dunbartonshire

Visitors to West Dunbartonshire can now enjoy discounts to local visitor attractions through a scheme supported by West Dunbartonshire Council. Visitors to the area as well as local people can enjoy a range of high value discounts at local attractions, activity venues and dining thanks to an innovative new product called WESTPASS.

WESTPASS  has been developed by Downtown City Maps, local publishers of  the Downtown Glasgow & Edinburgh City Maps, Glasgow Flyer Guide and The Loch Lomond & Clyde Guide. Downtown have been working closely with West Dunbartonshire Council and local businesses to create a visitor ‘passport’ style collection of incentives.  These are aimed at the joint market of incoming visitors and local day trippers who wish to take advantage of activities in the West Dunbartonshire area – and save money while doing so.

Attractions include a number of Clyde Waterfront Heritage attractions including the Titan Crane, the Denny Tank Museum at Denny's Shipyard and Dumbarton Castle.

The primary focus of WESTPASS is to motivate visitors to come to West Dunbartonshire and experience the range of attractions, retail outlets and dining opportunities available in the area.

WESTPASS is a unique offering that will save families money when they head out in the area. All the offer vouchers can be printed directly from the WESTPASS website or downloaded to your phone – www.westpass.co.uk

There are 14 great discounts and offers from some of the best attractions, activity providers, swimming pools and dining outlets in the West Dunbartonshire area.

“For those who have come to the area intent on a specific visit, the pass can act as a catalyst for them to extend their stay and explore other ideas within the area”, says Frank Willoughby from Downtown CityMaps.

WESTPASS was launched at the beginning of July in time to capture the main summer and autumn season.  Copies are available from local libraries, Visitor Information Centres and various outlets in and around the area.  For further information or to download vouchers from WESTPASS, access www.westpass.co.uk

WESTPASS is produced by Downtown CityMap Products in association with the West Dunbartonshire Marketing Group, facilitated by West Dunbartonshire Council’s Economic Development unit.
