"I grew up next to Glasgow Green and used to visit the Peoples Palace almost every day. The people who worked there were so kind to me as I was only 7 when I first started to visit there. They looked after me so much and I was taken under their wing as an unofficial member of staff ( this was in 1986 before health and safety and political correctness).
I was fortunate enough to see almost every part of the Palace from the very top of the gantry in the Winter Garden to the store rooms where exhibits were kept before being put on show.
They let me get as close as i liked to all the items including being able to stand in the banana boots (wish I still had the photo!) I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the love and kindness that was shown to me and now I look forward to taking my children to see where I spent many many happy hours."
